‘Every One Every Day’ Research shop
September 27 @ 10:00 am - November 26 @ 4:00 pm
The ‘Every One Every Day’ Research shop is opening in Paisley at The Art Department!
‘Every One Every Day’ aims to get more people involved in more neighbourhood projects in their local community. It’s not a volunteering programme. This is about neighbourhoods made by everyone, for everyone, and on an equal footing. It’s an idea that has been going for 5 years in Barking and Dagenham. You can find out more about how it works there at www.weareeveryone.org
The kinds of projects might include sharing knowledge, spaces and resources, for families to work and play together, for bulk cooking, food growing, tree planting, for trading, making and repairing, and for growing community businesses. The approach aims to work alongside what’s already happening and encourage more people to take part in ways that make sense to them.
The approach provides neighbourhood shops local to where you live which act as wee community hubs, dedicated staff to help design ideas into projects, any insurances or health and safety training provided, and a large Maker Space – free to access for people who live and work locally.
We want to hear from as many people as possible about if, and how it might work here. The questions we’re asking are:
- What places, spaces, organisations or groups are important to you at the moment?
- What are people already involved in and what other things might you like to do if you could?
- Where should we think about having a neighbourhood shop, or a Maker Space?
Come and be part of the conversation to see if we can adapt the approach here in Renfrewshire. What shape it takes is up to you!
