Marion Gardyne is a textile design graduate from DJCAD Dundee, I am a practicing artist member, exhibitor and award winner of The Paisley Art institute, member of The Glasgow Society of Women Artists and am a judge for the Glasgow Institute of Architects Annual Design Competition.
I have a particular interest in architecture and exhibited for Doors Open Days 2021 at The Arlington Baths Glasgow with a montage, drawings and collages of Glasgow‘s iconic doors.
As a retired teacher, I have presented workshops for Luminate Scotland at The Gallery of Modern Art and presented CPD workshops for colleagues for Glasgow Museums Education Department and Glasgow Life.
In April 2022 , I exhibited in the Glasgow Society of Women Artists group show at the Lillie Gallery, Milngavie. And in May 2022 , The Mark Baines & Alexander Thomson Society Drawing Competition & ‘Lines of Thought’ exhibition displayed at The Lighthouse, Glasgow celebrating the life of architect, Alexander ‘Greek’ Thomson.
I enjoy working in different mediums and in particular like to experiment and combine a variety of materials to produce themed dynamic collage work. I also use photography to make collages highlighting architectural features of iconic buildings.
My workshops will give you the opportunity to experiment with some printmaking techniques and a whole range of materials from fabrics to acrylics and recycled items combining cutting, shaping, gluing, tearing, layering, mark making and constructing to create your individual collage.
You will be given ideas to develop collage skills and support with your own ideas within a relaxing workshop situation. A wide selection of materials will be supplied for you to choose from.
