Lindy Hop Dance Workshops (Wednesday 16th October at 1-3pm Main Hall)

Fun, informal sessions of dance from the 1920’s – 1940’s with director and dancer, Allie Butler. You don’t have to be a dancer to do this, as long as you have a sense of fun and are ready to try something new! You will listen to music and learn some easy and enjoyable dance steps as a group. Taking jazz music and dance as the inspiration, the session will involve a low key warm up, exercises to get your body moving to music followed by a short, low impact and uncomplicated routine to a song, or make up your own version if you prefer!

Song Writing Workshops – Create a song as a group and have it played! (10am – 2pm Ferguslie Library)

Have you wanted to write a song but don’t know where to start?!  Come along and join Warren McIntyre of the band the Starry Skies.  You write a line he plays a chord, someone else writes a line, he plays a chord and  so on, so by the end of it a new song will have been written to be performed or perhaps more than one!  No experience is necessary so come, unlock your ideas & have your voice heard!

Podcasts – Have your Voice Heard!

In Motion are putting together a series of Podcasts with communities across Scotland so their voices can be heard about all things that actually matter to them.  We would love the people of Ferguslie Park to be the starting point for this. Whatever your age, come along to a safe, comfortable environment to do this and meet Cameron McGarva, voice over artist and presenter of the podcasts, and tell us what your home and the town you live in means to you.

Friday Social – Friday 18th October (12.30pm – 3pm, Main Hall)

On Friday 18th October, everyone can come together for lunch, some music, dance and a chance to catch up with friends. Put your dance skills to use, have your song heard by others or just come along to join in the atmosphere – all ages welcome.

Theatre TripTuesday 22nd October at 7.30pm

Join us on a theatre trip to Paisley Arts Centre on Tuesday 22nd Oct 7:30pm to see The Citizen Theatre’s new production of Fibres about a family and the shipbuilding industry – tickets and transport will be provided from The Tannanhill Centre to Paisley Arts Centre and back again. 20 tickets available – contact lisa@inmotiontc.co.uk if you or your group would like to attend.

Consultation: Paisley Youth Arts Festival

The Paisley Youth Arts Festival idea is one of those magical community driven initiatives that brings together passionate actors and young minds to create one of the most genuine experiences and maybe, shape some of their future life decisions. We want to bring this atmosphere to life: a happy end of summer festival, jumping about, sitting in cafes, playing music and games, acting, taking part in workshops and seeing people fall in love with all things Paisley.

An independent arts consultation is taking place at
PACE Youth Theatre, on Monday 18 February 2019 at 6-8.30pm
The Wynd Centre, School Wynd Paisley PA1

The consultation will be to discuss a new YOUTH ARTS FESTIVAL for Paisley to take place mid-late September 2019. The festival is open to young people, under the age of 25, and will take place at various venues throughout Paisley. The programme will include: gaming, indoor activity and outdoor activity; workshops, pop-up events, theatre, music, film and dance.

• PACE Youth Theatre
• Erskine Music & Media Studios
• Brick Lane Studios

• Loud and Proud
